Real quick: How many city of Lansing parks can you name?
The reason that I ask is that Lansing voters will be asked to renew at the August 3 election a one mill levy for city parks and recreation. I went to the city’s website to check for the number of parks in the city. It said there are 114 of various sizes scattered throughout the city.
To get a picture of what these parks look like, super-wife and I decided to see how many of these parks we could see between now and election day. I took my Flip video camera this morning as we went to 14 parks. Check out these video snippets:

I think that my favorite park was the Theo Fulton Park. It was tucked back along the Grand River. We were able to walk to the overlook and see the river. There were stairs that took us down to a small dock where we could even get a closer look at the river. What a pleasant surprise to find this park and it was less than two miles away from our house. I wonder what other park gems we will find today when we continue our quest to visit all of Lansing’s parks.
