Lansing Public Schools look forward to more major belt tightening in the upcoming fiscal year with its new budget adopted by the Board of Education.

WKAR News says the board adopted a budget for the new fiscal year with a $16 million cut from the present year and with $6 million taken from the rainy day fund.  It was adopted with a 5-4 vote.

Issues debated included the closing of the Ebersole Center and giving some elementary principals two schools to supervise rather than one.

What’s all this going to mean for the individual schools and how they operate on a daily basis? What are the changes?
