Today is our son Justin’s 26th birthday and super-wife and I have been celebrating the occasion. He lives and works in Washington D.C., but as card-carrying empty-nesters, we wanted to recognize the occasion.
We went to the Sugar Shack Shop at 2315 Grand River, right next to the Marathon Station to buy a gourmet cupcake. We did the same on our daughter Krista’s 28th birthday on St. Patrick’s Day and felt that it was a good way to recognize his entry into our world.
Check on my personal blog–Daily Grit– for a short video from the bakery with Derek, the baker, who describes what we purchased and what we split after lunch. It was great. I hope the taste from the peanut butter frosting and banana cake hangs with me all day.
