Follow tonight’s City Council budget on the “City Pulse” Twitter feed

by Wes Thorp on May 17, 2010

There’s probably never been a more important budget for the city of Lansing, then the one being voted on tonight by the City Council.  Massive cuts are expected for city government with the potential of City Hall being put on a four-day work week.  There’s also the possibility of a property tax rate increase being approved at the meeting.

You can follow the action in a variety of ways including the almost real time Twitter feed of the Lansing City Pulse. They will have a reporter who will be tweeting the event and who says what to whom.

For those who don’t know Twitter, it’s micro-blogging where the sender posts 140-character messages.   If you haven’t used it before, give it a try.  It’s as easy as going to a web page and for those with the savvy, they can move the feed to their smart phone.

I’m going to be using it.  If you do, leave a comment about what you thought.  Was it helpful?
