I live in Lansing’s southwest side Averill Woods Neighborhood where there were two recent homicides in a home on a quiet residential street.
The neighborhood is reacting by holding a “Walk-Ride” through this enclave of families, empty-nesters, senior citizens and the young hip crowd who want to own their own home. It’s starts at 2 p.m., Sunday, April 18 at Averill Park, adjacent to the Averill School with the route for the walk and bike ride outlined below. Download the Averill Walk Ride Flyer
The whole city and metro area is involved to show support for the area that has been snapped to attention by this crime, but not bowed over. There will be police escorts at the front and back for the walker and bike riders.
