You might not want to miss this if you live or work in the city of Lansing: Mayor Virg Bernero presents his city budget proposal for 2010-11 at the City Council meeting on Monday night. It starts at 7 p.m. and can be seen on Comcast in Lansing at Channel 12 and can be seen online at the city’s website.
This budget proposal has taken on critical importance because of the continuing decline in city revenues which are fueled by state revenue sharing which continues to plummet. There are many questions about how the city will respond to falling revenues and how it will affect services to residents.
