Lansing (MI) police catch car thief in south side chase

by Wes Thorp on February 12, 2010

When you see a Lansing police officer today, be sure to give them a smile and a nod for the great job they did last night in executing a successful car chase last night on our city’s southside.  Car chases can be dangerous and have been the subject of debate in the Michigan Legislature over the past 20 years.

The chase started when a Lansing Police Department officer spotted a stolen car and made a traffic stop and then have the car speed off.  The chase, according to the Lansing State Journal and WILX.com started on South Cedar and ended on Mechanic and Risdale.

Car chases don’t seem common in our area.  This is one that ended successfully.   Thank-you LPD!
