I’ve lived in Lansing a few decades and it seems like I keep discovering new and well-defined old neighborhoods. I kinda-sorta knew about REO Town on the southside side just below the downtown area which is rich in automotive history. I found a REO Town Commercial Association and I found this Flickr album of REO Town sights.
Anybody familiar with the history of the neighborhood? I know that REO has to stand for Ransom E. Olds and I know that Diamnod REO was located there. I vaguely remember seeing the end of the assembly line for the Army’s famous deuce-and-a-half trucks.
UPDATE: For more information, check this REO Town profile from the Lansing area’s Capital Gains blog. Also, follow REO Town Commercial Association on Twitter.
