The Lansing City Market-one week later

We stopped by the new Lansing (MI) City Market early this afternoon to see how it has progressed in getting more vendors ready and to check on the number of customers at the new facility downtown and right on the shores of the Grand River.

It’s been open exactly one week after its controversial move from an older structure a few hundred feet northwest of the new structure which has been described as our city’s $2 million pole barn.

What did we see?  There were shoppers at the market and the vendors area seemed a little neater and more organized, but it still had many vendors not opened and still in the process of getting set-up.  And, a side note.  The steps leading up to the market building from the westside only had snow shoveled on half which would have been difficult to navigate if there had been more people.
