The opening date I’ve heard for the new Lansing City Market is this Saturday, Jan. 9. That’s why I was excited to see this video with Scott Keith, the CEO of the 
Lansing authority which has responsibility for the market. It’s on the Life in Lansing website, a new place to get video previews of a variety of facets of city life, especially about restaurants, attractions and some activities.
In the video, Scott tells about the new market and shows the inside of the empty new market and paints a picture of the new facility which holds a lot of promise as a real downtown attraction.
It reminds me of the Eastern Market in Washington, D.C. which I see a couple times a year while visiting our son who lives on Capitol Hill. It’s a place to get great food of all types and it’s a social gathering spot. Check out the video from Life in Lansing:
