During these grey winter Lansing (MI) days I got to the Biggby’s on Waverly Road quite often for a hot coffee and the smiling, friendly atmosphere. I really like the Michigan Cherry coffee and a few of the others. But . . . I don’t order the special drinks with chocolate, sugar, syrup or any of that stuff. Here’s why:
I’m a Weight Watcher. I proudly share that I’m a 63-year-old baby-boomer guy who has been dinking around with the weight risk factor. I was overweight or as they say in my doctor’s office: obese. Since the end of July using their online system, I have moved from around 238 to 210. And I’m not going back up there.
But every once in a while, I get a taste for a Biggby’s sweet drink. It would appeal to my sweet tooth and it would make the newspaper I read there go down a little easier.
What I need is to be able to count the Weight Watcher points of their drinks like the “skinny, skinny, mocha, mocha” which is supposed to imitate death by chocolate. Would you be more apt to buy a sweet Biggby’s beverage if you knew the points? Here’s what Biggby’s founder Bob Fish says about the new line of drinks:
