Lansing (MI) attorney Chris Lewless wants to be elected City Council member for the city’s most tony neighborhood where other lawyers, the governor of Michigan and top business people live. He started buiding a new house and then got zinged by the sick economy with its falling housing market.
With more than 20 liens on his unfinished house, Lawless has still made moves towards running this spring in a primary for open council seat, according to Kyle Melnin, Lansing City Pulse columnist.
Will his financial problems help or hurt his chances for being elected to the council? Will he be regarded as one of the masses in mid-Michigan who are struggling financially or will his situation be seen more negatively?
